Bhanwar Review: Karanvir Bohra Directed Sci-fi Thriller Is Every Bit Intriguing; Priya Banerjee Impresses Too
TV hunk Karanvir Bohra, who has wowed fans with his remarkable acting skills in a streak of popular shows, has now donned a director's hat for ZEE5's recently-released web show titled Bhanwar. Interestingly, Bohra also stars in it, alongside Priya Banerjee. The 8-episode web series is a sci-fi thriller that started streaming from today and it's an absolute treat for all the KVB fans out there. Talking about its plot, Bhanwar is based on the lives of a couple who enters the future, only to know that they are going to be murdered. The couple then arrives in the present to plan about saving themselves from getting killed. Well, you got to watch the show to know what really happens!

Coming to the performances, both Karanvir Bohra and Priya Banerjee impress with their convincing portrayals as Ranvir and Kanika. Right from their sizzling chemistry to some hard-hitting dialogues and a brilliant screen presence; KVB and Priya have done complete justice to the show's plot. Bhanwar brings a unique plot of time travel with a gripping storyline. In a nutshell, this ZEE5 original is a complete package of entertainment, emotions and thrills, thereby making it a perfect weekend watch. FYI, Karanvir, as a director, too, hasn't disappointed. The complete series was shot amid the lockdown.

In a conversation with ZEE5, KVB said, "I chose the name Bhanwar because of the time-travel. So Bhanwar indicates a vortex, it indicates something to do with a whirlpool, it’s a wormhole. In the show, the characters travel through the wormhole and therefore the name seems apt for it."

Upon being asked about choosing this genre, the actor added, "The reason I chose a science-fiction genre, especially time travel was because I wanted the people to experience something new. If you see the Western shows, German shows, Italian shows even South Indian series and films, they are whipping up some amazing content. So I think it is high time that we make shows that push the boundary beyond reality and create something that is unique, untouched and leaves an impact!"

We give 2.5 stars to Bhanwar!
